The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/portal.nutanix.com\/page\/documents\/kbs\/details?targetId=kA00e000000LLIICA4\" target=\"_blank\">KB6470<\/a> Mentioned that it might be related to the ESXi scratch partition not having enough available space. But that wasn\u2019t the issue here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The command: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">hostssh \"df -h \/scratch\" <\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Revealed that the scratch partition had issues on one of the hosts (worked fine when looking at the ESXi level):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"730\" height=\"214\" src=\"https:\/\/vmoller.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/scratch-cmd.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-304\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vmoller.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/scratch-cmd.jpg 730w, https:\/\/vmoller.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/scratch-cmd-300x88.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I decided to put the affected ESXi host into maintenance mode to do a reboot of it \u2013 after that, I reran the \u201cdf -h \/scratch\u201d command and the problem was gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>And finally, Prism was able to update ESXi to desired version!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"561\" height=\"633\" src=\"https:\/\/vmoller.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/running.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"305\" data-full-url=\"https:\/\/vmoller.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/running.jpg\" data-link=\"https:\/\/vmoller.dk\/?attachment_id=305\" class=\"wp-image-305\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vmoller.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/running.jpg 561w, https:\/\/vmoller.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/running-266x300.jpg 266w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 561px) 100vw, 561px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently ran into the above problem with a customer while trying to upgrade ESXi from Prism interface.
